Sky High Slider Dogs -- World's Tallest (Low Carb & Grain Free)

Today was another beautiful day, but it was quite a bit warmer than yesterday -- we reached the mid-80s today. Hubby and I got up early and worked outside. While he did yard work, I decided to wash and wax my car. I had no idea it was going to get that warm outside today and washing and waxing a black car when it's in the 80s and bright sunshine tends to wear you out a bit. Saturday would have been a much better day for that...but it's done now. After running some errands, I was too tired to do anything time consuming for dinner, so I bought some items to grill. Both boys came for dinner so I made a variety of grilled items to make sandwiches with. I made sirloin burgers, both plain and with onions. I made sliders to fit on my Perfect Dinner Rolls that I used as slider buns and I also grilled hot dogs (Applegate's organic nitrite/nitrate-free grass-fed beef dogs) and then lastly, I grilled seasoned chicken cutlets for my son that isn't wild about beef!

We got a lot of practice using our new grill and it heats so much more evenly and nicely than the old one did. I snapped a couple photos of my "Sky High Slider Dogs" for you to see below. What are they you ask? Well, little slider burgers that I placed in one of my Perfect Dinner Rolls and layered sliced tomato, then a sliced hot dog, then the slider burger (w/ onions), sliced white cheddar chipotle cheese, sliced avocado and then the bun lid! LOL I almost dislocated my jaw trying to eat it. My sons said come on Mom, you know you can't bite that and eat it...so you know what I had to do don't you....SHOW them I could! I ate the first one like that and the only thing that slid off at the last bite was that slippery little piece of avocado. I've never eaten a hot dog and burger together before! Guess there's a first time for everything. Check out my silly dinner below. Enjoy!

I can't believe I ate the whole thing(s)!  :-)

  1. Hi GGC,

What a great sandwich! This reminds me of "Dagwood" and one of his midnight snacks. I'm sure he would love it! :-)

BTW, today we had our first grilled meal of the season ... hamburgers with your dinner rolls for the buns. Yum! We were out of the hot dogs or I would have tried one in the middle. Next time for sure!

  2. Hi CyberSis!

Wow...how great you were able to enjoy your first grilled meal this season -- you really aren't that far behind me here in Georgia! Well, I bet you enjoyed your hamburgers in a more "lady-like" fashion than I did with my concoction! ;-)
